When you are standing outside of a busy airport terminal or a remote trailhead, the future is full of trips where you will discover new things; however, the road ahead is very unclear. As a modern day explorer, selecting luggage no longer is simply an option for you to consider once your other traveling decisions have been made; it is now one of the most essential pieces of gear you will carry. An adventure ready suitcase offers a new way to think about how we design our luggage for travel. Adventure ready suitcases are not designed for a smooth ride across polished airport floors everywhere we go; they are designed for the very unpredictable nature of true exploratory travel — they are designed to be resilient. The adventure ready suitcase has been engineered to provide a benefit of utilizing impact resistant materials, oversized all-terrain wheels, and a scratch-resistant exterior. This unique combination is designed specifically for the traveler who is encountering the world in all of its raw and unfiltered states. It is NOT for those wishing to avoid adventure; it is for those who wish to be prepared for it. From cobblestone streets to sandy beaches; from packed subways to treacherous overland journeys, the adventure ready suitcase is designed for reliability throughout your travels while you remain focused on the experience, rather than the fragility of your possessions.
Fortitude - Built on Impact Resistant Materials
The adventure ready suitcase has a rugged identity due to its advanced material technology, which is the foundation of its construction. Rather than using traditional brittle hard shell plastics as all other luggage does today, the chassis of the adventure ready suitcase is made from a sophisticated composite polymer, engineered at the Molecular level to absorb shock and disperse it rather than transmitting it to your luggage. Think of it as a suspension system designed to protect your belongings during your adventures. When impacted suddenly, by careless baggage handlers tossing your bag, or falling down a set of stairs, or banging against a rock, the bag will bend slightly and spread the load evenly over the entire surface, then return to its original shape. The resiliency of the bag is increased with a reinforced inner structure, which would be constructed of a lightweight yet incredibly strong alloy, like aircraft-grade aluminum. The substructure (or skeleton) of the suitcase provides structural strength to protect the outer shell from folding in on itself, while the most vulnerable areas of the bag (the corners) receive additional protection from thickening layers or ribbed construction which provide built-in bumpers. Instead of a flimsy, fragile eggshell, the suitcase is more like a protective exoskeleton that allows travelers to pack with confidence that their fragile mementos, camera equipment, and essential electronics can withstand the rigors of travel, whether traveling in a cargo hold or strapped to the back of a truck over dusty roads.
No Terrain Too Challenging: Big All-Terrain Roller Wheels
If the body of a suitcase is like our legs, and our arm is the handle, it stands to reason that the wheels of the suitcase are like our legs and should be built to handle a marathon on every conceivable terrain. Most luggage has small, light-duty, single-wheel casters attached to its legs, which do not perform well on anything except smooth flooring. The oversized all-terrain wheels on this adventure suitcase are a true breakthrough. The diameter of these wheels is comparable to that of inline-skate wheels or heavy-duty hand trucks, so they have a tremendous mechanical advantage because they roll over obstacles, not catch on them. Another important consideration in selecting all-terrain luggage is the material from which the wheels are made.Made from a high-density polyurethane compound, the wheels on this suitcase offer a perfect balance of give and durability. They are soft enough to provide a smooth, quiet glide and absorb vibration from rough surfaces but very hard and durable enough to resist wear, crack, and melt due to friction. The unique tread pattern was also carefully thought out as the wheels have a deep groove design that offers unparalleled traction on loose gravel, wet pavement, grouted tiles, and even sand in multi-directions. The wheels generally sit on sealed precision ball bearings which allow for smooth, effortless rotation and little to no wobble or drag. All these characteristics combined create far less energy being exerted when pulling or pushing one's load. Therefore, when navigating a busy European market, crossing a grassy campground, or passing by cracked sidewalks (while hauling luggage) is simply a matter of being able to steer without difficulty and not struggle with the effort of hauling luggage which ultimately would free the traveler from their luggage limitations.
The Armored Skin: Scratch-Proof Surface
A suitcase's finish is a reflection of many travels. Some wear may add character to a suitcase and show how well it is cared for, while having many scuffed marks, numerous deep gouges, and dirt that is imbedded makes the bag appear severely weathered and not well maintained. Its ultimate protection from becoming scratched or scuffed is the scratch-proof surface of the adventure suitcase. A multi-layer coating is applied to the suitcase's base material to give it scratch-proof protection. The top layer is a ceramic-infused proprietary coating or a hard polymer laminate that receives a very high rating on the hardness pencil test scale (682).This surface also functions as a barrier to moisture and blood contamination by providing a non-porous, water-resistant and abrasion-resistant surface that doesn't allow for staining due to foreign materials (i.e., dirt, oil, etc.) that may be encountered during the course of travel. Therefore, spills can be easily wiped clean with a damp cloth and the grime accumulated from dusty train platforms or airport tarmacs will not adhere to the exterior surface of the suitcase. The positive impact of these functional properties is that the suitcase will remain cleaner and more sanitary and maintain a professional appearance regardless of whether it is being used for direct transportation to a business meeting or on to a fine hotel after an active adventure day. In addition, the structure of the outer shell is protected by the hardness of the exterior surface, providing an inherent level of resistance against superficial damage and preventing any resulting impact from progressing to create deeper cracks, or allow moisture penetration over time. Consequently, the exterior surface of the suitcase will continue to function as a source of pride, being just as durable as the travel spirit of the person carrying it.

Design Elements Synergistically Integrated for Real-Life Use

While the functional use of this suitcase is defined by individual attributes of design, true genius is contained within the full integration of each design element. An impact-resistant outer shell serves as the fortress for securely storing all of your belongings and a set of spring-loaded, all-terrain wheels provides unparalleled access to virtually any location. Thus, the totality of function, beautiful yet practical design attribute, is expressed through the constructed integrity of each individual design detail. For example, wheel housing assemblies are recessed into the outer shell and encompassed by extensions of the same tough outer shell material, preventing them from being sheared off or filled with foreign material due to lateral impact forces.

The ergonomic design of the suitcase's telescoping handle is also extremely important because the handle can withstand the high stresses placed on it while maintaining a high level of comfort throughout long periods of use. The telescoping handles are constructed with multiple locking mechanisms (i.e., locks) to facilitate adjustment of the height of the handle to fit the user, while at the same time being constructed from reinforced aluminum to withstand extreme bending. Furthermore, the grip of the telescoping handle is specifically shaped to ensure maximum comfort through prolonged periods of use.

The fullness of the design process also extends to the interior of the suitcase. Compression straps, partitioned compartmentalized dividers, and garment-lined compartments are designed to provide the maximum ability for the secure storage and organization of the user's belongings during transit. Each zipper, latch, and stitch is selected for maximum load-action use.

Finally, the integrated design process of this suitcase, when combined with its component design elements' maximum level of use and performance, provide a cohesive system for the user. Each time the user embarks on an adventure, he/she can expect a number of interconnected challenges—such as having to rush to the gate; dealing with bumpy transportation; or experiencing an unexpected torrential downpour—and the suitcase has been specifically designed for use with this mode of transportation while providing optimal performance during these types of challenges.

From passive container to active tool for exploration, this suitcase enables the user to move confidently and successfully throughout the world.
